Summer Photo Shoot

Behind the scenes... and more.

Summer Photo Shoot

Welcome to June: one of our favorite months here at Bliss. So far its been a busy couple of weeks with a denim trunk show, an exciting photo shoot and prepping for an upcoming sale (stay tuned for details next week!).

Denim Days

Our AG Try ‘Em & Buy ‘Em Event just ended on Monday and was a huge success (and super fun too!). Our stores were packed with new styles from AG, along with candy, lemonade and in-store giveaways. We just announced the winners of our try & buy giveaways yesterday: Karen Fagan won a free pair of AG jeans and Kara Welch won a $50 Bliss gift card! {A special thank you to everyone who came out for the event – we’re already looking forward to making it bigger & better next year!}

Bliss Photo Shoot

Backtrack to June 2nd – the day of our summer photo shoot! After rescheduling three times due to rain, we arrived at Hidden Pond in Kennebunkport with the sun shining! Third times a charm. We couldn’t have asked for a better day – and a more beautiful location. Hidden Pond is everything that a Maine resort should be; we were in complete awe of their lovely cottages surrounded by birch groves & balsam fir trees, their serene pool & lounge areas, their outdoor gardens and their incredible service. If you’ve yet to visit this southern Maine gem, you are missing out. We enjoyed every minute of our day there & can’t wait to reveal the photos (coming soon!).

Our talented photographer & friend, Christina Wnek, spent the day with us capturing the essence of Bliss in the summertime. An avid shopper in our stores, she knew our vision for the photo shoot & worked all day shooting our models in the gardens, woods and by the pool at the resort. Working along side her was our set stylist, Liz Lapan of Paper Posy Designs. Liz’s creative eye & fresh ideas made this photo shoot a success. Not only did she find us the perfect location for our summer shoot, but she handmade gorgeous floral backdrops... from paper. (Ahem, did we mention that she’s made a paper wedding gown for a Martha Stewart event? So awesome.)

Our two models – Diana and Margo – were so easy to work with & looked amazing in our clothes (of course!). We were also lucky enough to have the owner of Primp Salon in Falmouth with us all day. Holly styled our models' hair after each outfit change – whether it was soft waves with a turban headband, a side ponytail, or a high bun. Each hair style pulled the entire look together & we couldn’t have been happier with the outcome! Holly also brought along Primp’s makeup artist, Ellen. She gave each of our models a soft, natural look for our casual outfits and added drama for our gowns & evening looks. Both Holly and Ellen are amazing at what they do & we highly recommend them for any occasion.

Looking back at our day, it was packed full of outfit changes, different backdrops, and hair & makeup touch-ups – all which worked together to make our shoot a major success. We can hardly wait to share our photos with you, but until then, here are some behind the scenes images that I snapped throughout the day!

Enjoy & stay tuned – for our new photos and our upcoming sale!
