The Countdown Is On...
With each day that passes in October, I've been gearing up for maternity leave. Yes, I'm having a baby boy - due in just one week! I've never felt more excited (and nervous - who am I kidding!) about this new chapter in my life.
It's funny though... because amongst all the prepping and planning for baby, I find myself getting sentimental about leaving Bliss for a couple months. For a while now, this blog and our website have been my main focus. Plus, I'm really going to miss seeing the lovely ladies of Bliss on a daily basis! Transitioning to the sidelines may be hard at first, but I feel confident that Bliss will be in good hands while I'm away.
Meet Laura. Or maybe you already have - she's been working in our Portland store for about a year now! For the past month I've been training her and I know she's ready & eager for the job ahead.
Tell our readers a little about yourself.
L: I grew up in Portland and graduated from the University of Maine, Orono in 2012. After graduating, I was a waitress and worked at Bliss part-time. In September, I traded in my name tag and apron for my love of fashion, marketing and social media.
How would you describe your style? What's on your fall wishlist?
L: My style changes daily depending on my mood. My go-to outfit is a pair COH Rocket skinnys and a CP Shades tunic, which I normally pair with my Carson Lace Ups (so comfortable!) and Saint Grace scarf. I just bought the Toboggan coat from Pendleton's Portland Collection so that was my BIG fall buy. But, a girl always has a few items on her wishlist - the Campus boot, part of Frye's 150th Anniversary Collection and a pair of velvet skinnys from J Brand.
What blogs do you follow?
L: I have to admit, I'm new to following blogs. I just started following Atlantic Pacific. I'm more of a pinterest gal - it's so addicting.
Based on your training, what do you think you'll like best about the job?
L: I'm not sure yet - I've been learning so much this past month! The Fall photo shoot was really exiciting. I've enjoyed taking the images and pairing them together to create different stories on the website. I'm looking forward to our Holiday photo shoot in just a couple weeks!
You'll be hearing more from Laura in the coming months! (And I'll be back come January!)
